After being notified about the death of an investor, either by the next of kin or a solicitor acting on behalf of the deceased’s estate, Kuflink will mark the account as deceased and suspend all marketing emails. The next step is requesting proof of death, most commonly provided in the form of a death certificate and grant of probate.

If you have indicated a beneficiary in your will, your money will be allocated to them. If you have not done so, your investments will fall into probate and form part of your overall estate, which a solicitor will normally nominate the surviving spouse to take ownership of. Any funds which can be released immediately will be sent to the appropriate recipient and a monthly sweep of the account is carried out indefinitely until such time as all funds have been liquidated and released to the appropriate recipient.
